Kitchen storage is often limited in small homes or apartments. The constrained cabinet space built into the kitchen may not be enough for your collection of dishes, not to mention the canned and boxed goods and other food items which may need to go in these cabinets as well.

An empty corner or alcove in the kitchen is ideal, but you can also tuck extra storage into the dining room or even a corner of the living room. The idea is to keep the food as close to the kitchen as possible for easy retrieval.
